so before I hyperventilate again, did anyone else notice (in the scene where Klaus was in Tyler’s body but pretended to be Tyler and was saying how ‘you’ll be fine’ etc to Caroline) when they hugged, he closed his eyes ever so gently and just felt the warmth of her embrace as if he was hugging her for the very first time?…because that actually was his first time in her arms and it looked exactly how Klaus himself closed his eyes when he staked Rebekah after the homecoming episode. It was actually him.

The point is that after Stefan saved her and was amazingly shocked at the uncanny resemblance, he went back. He secretly studied her to ensure that she wasn’t Katherine. He became attracted to the fact that she WASN’T although he found it unbelievable that a doppleganger actually existed. But he cared, so he went back. He wanted to get to know her. And he made that happen. That IS the point.
